I had responsibility for the production stability, resiliency, and supportability of all Federal Reserve payment products and systems: wire, ACH, check, and cash. 

  • Customers include more than 10,000 financial institutions across the country.

  • Payment products process a daily average of more than 150 million electronic payments with a combined value above $5 trillion. 

  • Teams provide technical operations in the cloud, Fed data centers, co-location centers, and SaaS.

  • Three assistant vice presidents oversee ten teams to monitor and maintain the systems that secure and move the nation’s money 24x7x365.

 

Notable Accomplishments

  • Meeting or exceeding all quality measures.

  • Successfully building a unified Tech Ops team from four separate payments offices.

  • Transforming from waterfall development to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

  • Ensuring consistent success today and creating an innovative and strong future roadmap. 

  • Building productive cross-discipline partnerships including Engineering, Quality Assurance, Architecture, Identity and Access Management, Info Security, Finance, and external vendors.

As Retail Payment’s Production Support Officer, I had responsibility for ACH and Check products and their system production stability, resiliency, and supportability. 

 

Notable Accomplishments

  • Achieved 50% reductions in the frequency and impact of production incidents through a robust Problem Management discipline that continues to the present day. 

  • Implemented FranklinCovey’s Four Disciplines of Execution to skill up more than 100 staff, with decades of mainframe experience, in time to move to the new system.

Joining the Federal Reserve originally as a consultant for a new headquarters project, I successfully completed that project and converted to a full-time employee.  Over the next twelve years I consistently increased my area of responsibility, first locally and then nationally. 
 
Notable Accomplishments

  • Led the design and implementation of the IP Telephony and local area network products now used in forty-five offices across all twelve Federal Reserve districts. 

  • Gathered requirements, developed plans, and maintained up-to-date roadmaps of all the telephony and network features and products needed to delight our customers.
